Chances of riding 01.23.24 through 01.29.24 – It starts to get a little more “dicey” at this point in the game.
Good morning! We have Winter Weather Advisories up for most of the Central and Eastern portions of New York. This lasts through tonight with our storm system coming up from the south and general light snows we shall receive throughout the day and into this evening. It looks like anywhere in Upstate NY over the next 24 hours is guaranteed a minimum of 2 inches of snow, so that is our minimum forecast. If you only get an inch your more of the exception than the rule. Please allow extra time for your travels today.
Tonight through Wednesday and into Thursday, we start to see the Lake Effect roar once again. And in some big numbers. Which locally I could potentially have as low again. These snowfalls will be much more localized and harsh rather than widespread. Just keep that in mind.
Next system comes late Thursday through Friday with more snows and another shot at a few inches of snow for everyone. There will be one more big blast of lake effect squalls Friday, through Saturday, ending by Sunday across the region. If you happen to be where these bands of snow set up, again, my apologies in advance.
Then we get into next week. Then the worm turns. Then the pattern changes. After two weeks of brutal cold is this just a late January thaw? I don’t know but we will have to see about that. After that heading into the month of February, it continues to look good. For now. Pray that it does because the back 9 of winter comes up faster and faster each year it seems. After Valentine’s Day seems to be it. Hoping for some good riding between now and then and beyond that.
