It figures as much that after I go on a spree of NO SNOW UNTIL _____, we get… well… SNOW! It’s not for everybody. It won’t stay around. Even in far Western NY where amounts could reach 10″, with temperatures running at or above normal with sunshine starting Wednesday, it is highly unlikely any snow will be around Upstate NY for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We are one week away today so you can pretty much take that to the bank.
In the meantime though, rain changes to snow tonight starting across Western NY then extending into Central NY by Tuesday morning. There will be just enough cold to create a trace to maybe an inch or two over Central NY. Back towards Rochester and Buffalo, a better 2-5 inch range is expected. South and West of Buffalo is where bullseye hits with 5-10 inches starting tonight and lasting through tomorrow.
Starting Wednesday and going all the way through Christmas Day, an extended period of dry weather and sunshine is expected. Temperatures will be from the high 30s into the 40s during the day and 20s at night. With what little snow we have, again, few of you in Upstate NY, if any, will see a White Christmas this year.
