Good morning! I know what you are thinking… where the #@!? is spring? And where was this weather in December??? Can’t answer anything other than “it is what it is”… enjoy the brutal near record cold today, tonight and first thing Tuesday. Tuesday PM won’t be so cold.
Wednesday is a mixed bag. We start off chilly with snow, sleet and/or freezing rain for a period during the day, then a break in the action Wednesday night. Accumulations look to be light enough to where it won’t be a major problem, but enough to where you want a heads up for some extra travel time.
Thursday is the only warm day right now. Warm front blasts through, and spring comes back! For a day anyway. Round of rain in the morning, a break, then heavier rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening Thursday before the cold comes right back in.
Friday will be an April Fools Joke with a mix of rain and snow, changing to all snow especially in the higher elevations with a deep WNW to NW flow of unstable cold air. There will be some minor accumulations, especially in the snowbelt. A few inches at best.
Then heading into the first full week of April… it’s going to stay cold. It looks like the same playbook the last several years of the big March meltdown, followed by two months of crap until sometime in May (after Mother’s Day) is playing out exactly as scripted. I apologize. I’m just the messenger. If the mix mess on Wednesday and/or lake effect on Friday amount to anything worthy of putting up a map, I will. Otherwise, don’t plan on any yardwork or barbeques for at least the next 10-14 days.

Besides putting together quotes and a plan to offer Upstate Snow Merch for the first time ever, I have a website redesign not for Upstate Snow but for my company site… and new offerings coming soon for those interested in weather!
