It was bad. Very bad. Most of the trails are CLOSED at this time with very little to ride on. It’s die hard season right now. There is some winter left to go. The question is: Will it be enough to reopen trails? And if so, how long?
The storm soaking the Southeast US this afternoon and tonight moves into the Northeast tomorrow with snow on the northern end. This is more of a “hey, it’s going to snow” rather than a “rideable” amount of snow, but for the purposes of “what’s going on” tomorrow, this is what is going on. Just a few inches to whiten up things after the brown and down major warmup of the last two days.
The bigger thing I’m looking at, which will give you whom want one last shot at winter and/or riding is Friday night into Saturday. BIG STORM develops in the Southeast again and rockets it’s way into the Northeast, shooting off the coast. Yesterday it was St Lawrence Valley. Now it’s a Nor’easter track. I’m not banking on anything at this point for sure, except to say “STAY TUNED”. How much snow? This is what the Euro model says this weekend. It might not happen. Then again, it might! We are still at 5 days out. Two days away before I put MY forecast on it.
Bottom line – For most, the season is over. Even if we get good snow, some clubs may not open up. It is your responsibility and vitally important you double check where you want to ride to see if it’s open, assuming we do get a good dump of snow this weekend. Don’t wait either. It’s mid March and with the weather pattern the way it is, you may literally have a few days to get your “fuel stabilizer” ride in before we are done for the season for sure.
Stay tuned. I’ll keep you posted. Talk to you tomorrow!
