On behalf of all one of us representing Upstate Snow, I’d like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!
I’d also like to apologize for the Green Christmas y’all will be having. From 2019 until now, 5 years running, at least where I was in Upstate NY before I moved to South Carolina and again I am sorry.
But there are better days ahead. Seriously. They are. And what I am about to tell you at 8-14 days will not become sunshine and 40s.
It will be mild, above freezing, with no snow pretty much through New Year’s Eve. The next 7 days are a waste. By the time the ball drops us into 2024, a stronger cold front should sweep across Upstate NY and bring December’s HEAT to an end and start January as it should in Upstate NY: COLD.
Temperatures the first week of January will average below normal. If anything, a major shot of arctic air comes at us the first weekend of January, plunging our temperatures. Will we have any snow or lake effect snow to ride on by that point will be the big question. At this time, especially with it being too far out, it’s fine. Once I follow up again after Christmas, I hope to have more details.
Merry Christmas from Upstate Snow!
