Good morning Upstate Snow Nation! It’s a cold day out there so bundle up! Some spots across Upstate NY were BELOW ZERO this morning for the first time this season!
You know where the lake effect will nail: Buffalo and Watertown today and tonight, before sliding back south and weakening. A dusting to 2″ of light snow is expected on Thursday followed by a major lake effect event Friday through Sunday. That before a January thaw, a second one, comes about next week, particularly mid to late next week. That’s still 7-14 days out so don’t worry about it yet… but if you have ANY opportunity to ride this weekend, I would definitely make the time for it. It could end up being the best and only weekend this season. We may get a lot more. We shall see.
Now is the time for a part of the morning blog I didn’t want to write. But feel I have to. We had an incident recently where I acted inappropriately. I am sorry for that incident. Thank you for your contributions to this site. As a final note, this will mark a change with me for Upstate Snow operations. I have been strongly advised to take a break from this site. Whether it last a few days, through this January thaw next week, or through the rest of the season, you will notice a difference. I will not be commenting anywhere near as much, if at all. Remember, if you need to reach me directly, you can always send me a personal message. And I will respond. This is a direct order from my family. I can understand why. Best to all of you, and I’ll talk to you soon!
