We Finally Got Good Snow! Now What???
Most of Upstate NY did well with my accumulations for the Saturday Night and Sunday storm. I’m thankful that you did and a majority of the state hit my ranges. Again a few areas were more than expected and a few less, but dealing with Upstate NY, I am almost never going to get 100%. If I do, call in the National Guard!
Hope everyone is cleared out and enjoyed this quiet Monday. Because tomorrow, especially tomorrow night into Wednesday, the winds shall be roaring!
High Wind Warnings have already been hoisted for a good part of Upstate NY, and Wind Advisories for the rest of Upstate NY. That is not good. We will see widespread winds of 30-60 MPH with gusts to hurricane force possible, particularly Tuesday Night. We start with snow and some light accumulations during the day Tuesday before the milder air and the rip roaring wind comes blowing over Tuesday Night.
Severe Weather will be with this storm but much farther to the south over the Virginia’s, Carolina’s, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. Tornadoes are likely in this part of the nation with strong ones possible. Thank God that’s something we don’t have to deal with in January in Upstate NY!
We get Wednesday to get the winds down and Thursday actually turns out to be a pretty average ordinary day. Temps shall be in the 30s. Lows will be in the teens and 20s. It’s just a little above normal but not majorly!
The next storm is already on the radar for later Friday and into this weekend. This one also starts with snow, then mixes and goes to rain for a brief time, before changing to snow over the weekend. That will bring smiles to many over this MLK Weekend!
And looking at the extended to MLK Day and deeper into next week, cold temperatures and a high chance of at least snow showers, with some heavier lake effect and possible Nor’easters make this a good forecast brief! A really good one!
Some of you may have noticed some faces not around here anymore. I have said this before. More than once! I will absolutely say it again! More than ONCE! If ANY of you or your people decide to get personal and/or overly insulting like with foul language, etc. YOU WILL BE BANNED FROM THIS SITE! Is this a temporary thing? Nope. It’s permanent. Ask some folks who had it out for me 10 years ago what I am doing with them. Nothing. Once you get banned, to me, it’s as if you didn’t exist anymore. A few more people just found that out recently including a few people I thought were friends of mine. Especially in the months post-stroke, that’s something you absolutely do not want.
